Product Spotlight- Cholesterol + HDL + Glucose triple tests

This month we take a look at the popular triple strips tests for the Cardiochek PA machine. With results in under 2 minutes at point of care, no refrigeration and no fasting for just £4.67 per test, it’s no wonder these have become our best selling cholesterol strips.

The triple strips are ideal for those who are conducting a Cardiovascular Risk Assessment, such as the Framingham or Joint British Societies RA (JBS2) and they can of course give you your TC:HDL ratio.

UK guidelines recommend that your cholesterol level should be less than 5mmol/L and your HDL better than 1mmol/L (males) or 1.2mmol/L (females). Your TC:HDL ratio should be 5mmol/L or greater (i.e. your total cholesterol divided by your HDL cholesterol). This reflects the fact that for any given total cholesterol level, the more HDL, the better.
